We all know the old Regal movie theater on Caledonia Drive has been sitting empty for a while now — but that’s all changing. If you’ve driven past the Rush Soccer Fields lately, you’ve probably noticed construction picking up steam. So what’s coming? Here’s everything you need to know about the major transformation happening just across the highway from Dardenne Prairie. 

Part of the old theater space is being transformed into Contender eSports — a state-of-the-art gaming center where players can compete, snack, and shop. You can expect: 

• Dozens of high-end gaming stations 

• Bi-monthly tournaments 

• Food, drinks, and exclusive gaming merch 

Whether you’re a casual player or a competitive gamer, this is going to be a hotspot for entertainment in O’Fallon. 

Batbox baseball simulators are coming — and they’re not your average batting cage. Think high-tech batting cages meets virtual reality! You’ll step into the box, swing for the fences, and track your stats like a pro. Perfect for: 

• Team practices and training 

• Date nights 

• Family fun or friendly competition 

Good news for movie lovers: they’re planning to keep a couple of the original theater rooms open. These will show current films and also be available to rent for private events — perfect for parties, team celebrations, or just a cozy night out. 

Just across from the entertainment venue, construction has started on: 

• A brand-new Cambria Hotel, bringing modern accommodations to the area 

• A second location for Kraner Family Dentistry, expanding from Wentzville to better serve O’Fallon and Dardenne Prairie families 

The City of O’Fallon has approved a new project called Caledonia Flats, located near the intersection of Highway DD and I-64. Plans include: 

• 92 apartments 

• 820 sq ft of commercial space 

🛑 Just a quick note: Approved doesn’t always mean guaranteed. I’ll keep my eye on this one as it progresses. 

Also in the works: a new multi-tenant commercial building is coming near the beautiful Berkshire Hathaway building. 

Let’s cross Highway DD for one more exciting update. You’ve probably seen the new First Community Credit Union open at the corner — but what about the open land just north of it? 

While nothing is finalized yet, I can confirm that 3–4 big box retailers are in conversations with the City of O’Fallon about developing that space.
